This course lasts 8 hours in total, spread in 4 x 2-hour long lessons, in an 1-on-1 basis. In this class you would make a shift dress to measure from beginning to end. This course will teach you how to take measurements, properly choose the right pattern for a specific size, then alter it to bespoke measurements, lay out the cutting plan and cutting the dress out. Then using a sewing machine and an overlocker (domestic or industrial), sewing darts, inserting a zip, hemming, facing the armholes and neckline and finishing the dress to a high standard. It is a very good class as it will teach you the right way of doing things from the beginning so you have the right base to learn from. I have been teaching this for over a decade with success. This class is £240 in total, although it can be paid per session (4 sessions) and includes everything you might need, from materials to tools and machine usage, although you are more than welcome to bring your own sewing machine if you want to learn to use it well, and your own fabric if you have one that you really want to use.
